Our HCA’s/phlebotomists will take blood tests as requested by your doctor, conduct NHS Health Checks and Smoking Cessation Clinics. The HCAs continue to increase their skills to help with diagnostic tests (ECGs, 24 hour BP etc.) usually conducted by the Practice Nurses. The phlebotomy clinics are held three times a week, by appointment only, on Monday, Tuesday and Friday mornings. The bloods are sent to the hospital for testing and results are normally known within 24-48 hours. However we ask that you allow time for your doctor to read the results which they do daily.  We are able to test INR for anticoagulation monitoring on specialist equipment here at the surgery. Please ask at reception for an appointment.
