**When attending the surgery, we would ask that all patients wear a face mask or face covering please - thank you**

Information regarding the COVID-19 Vaccine

(August 2021 - Click on the above text in red for further information)

COVID VACCINATIONS (13/08/2021)

Covid-19 vaccinations are being delivered through a range of NHS services and our practice population will be invited based on a nationally set priority list. Please do not contact the surgery - Patients are being contacted by our local Federation (DGS Health) who are providing the service to Surgeries in the Swanley and Rural area.

Clinics are being held at The Alexandra Suite, St Mary's Road, Swanley.

The Federation will contact patients to invite them for their two vaccinations.

Our phone lines are extremely busy and we would appreciate your help in freeing up the phone lines so patients can call regarding other Health matters.

THANK YOU

 GP APPOINTMENTS

If you have an appointment booked with a GP please do NOT attend the surgery. A GP will phone you on the morning/afternoon of your scheduled appointment to discuss your problem. This may not be at the exact time your appointment was scheduled for so please stay contactable. If a face to face meeting is still required, the GP will arrange this with you.

NURSE/HEALTH CARE ASSISTANT APPOINTMENTS

We are restricting face to face appointments with our nurses/HCAs to those with urgent need. We will be contacting you if we need to cancel your appointment. If you have booked an appointment for a chronic disease review (i.e. diabetes, COPD, asthma) our nurses will try and carry out this review by phone.

DISPENSARY SERVICES

Prescriptions will be issued for 1 month at a time.

This is in response to new guidance from NHS England. Issuing prescriptions for longer periods of time has led to supply problems for some essential medications e.g. inhalers. This is putting some patients at risk so please DO NOT ask for longer supplies- we will not issue them.

Due to increased pressure on the dispensary please allow 3 working days before collecting your medication. If you are a non dispensing patient who normally collects their paper prescriptions from the surgery please try not to come to the surgery. We can send your prescription directly to your chosen pharmacy. Please let us know if you would like us to arrange this. We can also post your prescription to you if you enclose an SAE (Stamped Addressed Envelope). Please ensure you allow extra time for postal delays.

Abuse to Staff

Sadly our staff are experiencing increasing levels of abuse from patients.

We understand that these are stressful times, but such abuse is unacceptable.

The staff are working extremely hard and are putting themselves at risk in order to maintain a service to our patients.

Any patient who is abusive to our staff will be removed from our list immediately, regardless of their circumstances.

Many thanks for your co-operation during this difficult time.

The Partners

Welcome to Braeside Surgery

We are confident that our website will provide clear and concise help and give our patients the information they require in an easy and convenient format. It has been designed with the patient’s needs at the forefront of everything, from checking surgery times to letting us know what you think of us.

Serving You

Our dedicated team are here to treat those minor ailments that occur as well as providing specialist management of long-term conditions and clinics covering a wide range of healthcare issues. The technology also means you can now do a lot of things from the comfort of your home such as order a repeat prescription or cancel an appointment.

Partners in Care

Once registered, patients and healthcare professionals work together to ensure the most appropriate care is provided. This partnership philosophy extends even further and our active patient group exists to make sure that patient needs and the practice offering are always heading in the same direction.

Access & Facilities

The practice is conducted from modern, purpose-built premises completed in 1989 with a roof space conversion in 1996. Special attention has been given to the needs of those patients who are disabled or have difficulty in negotiating stairs. All consulting rooms are on the ground floor and doors are wide enough to accommodate wheelchairs. The entrance to the surgery has a gentle sloping ramp and the patient's toilet has also been designed with the disabled in mind.

The front entrance incorporates a pram park and in order to protect the carpet, visitors are respectfully requested not to bring prams or pushchairs in to the waiting room.

We are a dispensing practice and this means, that for any patients who live more than 1 mile (1.6km) from a pharmacy, we are able to dispense any prescribed medication direct from the surgery.

Parking on White Post Hill

If you do have to park in front of the surgery on White Post Hill please ensure you leave space for cars and emergency vehicles to get through.

Thank you for your consideration.
